An undergraduate student of Duke University joined the “Sri Lanka Emerging Acute Respiratory infection and Febrile illness Characterization” Study from May to August 2014 to assist the study with dengue serology and molecular testing of samples under the mentorship of Dr. Chris Woods and Dr. Ajith Nagahawatte and contributed significantly to setup the new molecular laboratory under the department of Microbiology.
